Why Nipple Reconstruction?
At Elysian Plastic Surgery nipple reconstruction is a meaningful final step in breast restoration for patients who have undergone mastectomy, trauma, or prior reconstructive breast surgery. This delicate procedure recreates the appearance of a natural nipple and areola, helping patients feel whole and complete again—both physically and emotionally.
DR. BRIAN’S PROCESS
Nipple reconstruction typically involves reshaping a small portion of the patient’s own tissue to create a natural projection and contour. In some cases, 3D medical tattooing is later used to recreate the areola and add realistic color and depth, enhancing the final aesthetic result. For patients who do not wish to undergo surgical reconstruction, medical tattooing alone can also provide a highly convincing and beautifully restorative outcome.
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia in our accredited, on-site ambulatory surgery center and may be completed several months after breast reconstruction, once the breast mound has fully healed and settled. At Elysian Plastic Surgery, we approach nipple reconstruction with compassion, artistry, and deep respect for each patient’s journey—delivering results that reflect natural symmetry, sensitivity, and personal identity.
